hi @stefano@rpi0w.stefanomarinelli.it

I'm running #Littlefedi on a FreeBSD jail. It's working fine, but recently I've been getting hit with 'rate limit exceeded' errors pretty frequently. Any advice on how to fix this?

@poes@soc.egois.org you need to set the trusted_proxies in the toml file:

[http]
[...]
# trusted_proxies = ["127.0.0.1/32", "::1/128"] # only the addresses of your reverse proxy
[...]

@stefano@rpi0w.stefanomarinelli.it

thanks you, I just add the jail IP (10.0.0.5/32) to trusted_proxies, restart littlefedi, and hopefully everything goes smoothly

@poes@soc.egois.org is the 10.0.0.5 the reverse proxy's IP address? If so, it's ok.

@stefano@rpi0w.stefanomarinelli.it

10.0.0.5 is my littlefedi jail, just checking littlefedi log and all traffic is coming from this IP.

and so far the rate limit error is gone

@poes@soc.egois.org ok, so i guess the reverse proxy is there, in the same jail. that value should be the ip of the reverse proxy.
